Stephen Emmer’s latest musical offering Home Ground addresses contemporary concerns within the timeless musical excellence of classic soul combined with the sonic impact of the 21st century. The Home Ground songs are vocally performed by a careful selection of musical icons from the last 5 decades. The impressive featured artists line up includes CHAKA KHAN, PATTI AUSTIN, ANDY BEY, KENDRA FOSTER, FRANK MCCOMB, MARY GRIFFIN, DWIGHT TRIBLE, URSULA RUCKER and the late LEON WARE.

The main lyrical thrust of Home Ground is the world that is in constant conflict or war, whether over land, religion or race; this is not just black against white, it’s also poor against rich, justice against injustice, and the myriad other ongoing conflicts that beset our world.

In an effort to help make this world a better place the Home Ground campaign will be in support of charity. Based on the lyrical content and the fact that the project is music-based, Stephen immediately thought of War Child as the perfect fit. War Child works for a better future for hundreds of thousands of children affected by war. They help them cope with their conflict-related experiences, rebuild relationships with friends and families and regain their self-confidence. A fair share of proceedings (25% on digital sales profit and 50% on physical sales profit) will be donated to War Child.

Track Name: A New Day To Come featuring Andy Bey
I see life as I travel through
So many points of view
Should I close my eyes to so much heartache that I see
The chains are strong now
The rights seem wrong somehow
I’m holding out for a new day, to come

Shadows fall in a new way
The seasons change
I open my mind to free all the love I feel inside

I’m not looking for dreams no
The things I see are real
So I move on for a new day, to come

The lessons we learn from life always make us
Wiser and stronger but we need more love
So look into another’s heart you will see
The same things you feel
Cos we all need love

So don’t let the feelings change
We’re all the same
Open your heart now, then you will see

You will see

Oh, you will see

The chains are strong now
The rights seem wrong somehow
I’m holding out for a new day to come
Track Name: Close To Life featuring Frank McComb
There is a time when we once were
The ones who said we don’t want war
No conflict over land or race
Not glorifying a disgrace
Never ever more

The years have passed and nothing’s changed
So people feel they’re quite estranged
To all the lovers of today
Give peace a chance and on this day
Unite and shout out come what may
Bring it close to life

Every time you ‘re listening to your own heart
Close to life
Stay close to life

The way to go is the way ahead
No looking back, no old regrets

Constant conflict over land, religion or race
300 million refugees: such a disgrace
So many people leaving their Home Ground
Where strangers become soldiers
Turning it into a battleground
Boats flood the oceans to head for another place
Where the police turns nomads in as a race

And 'What’s going on' still is the number one phrase
Home is where you're never alone
Close to life and not on your own
Go where you feel you belong
Life belongs to you and you alone
That’s what makes you strong

Stay close to life

Strong is when you make others strong
Help them to see what is not there
Knowing nothing is meant to last
Like your brother there
Cherish moment to moment
Love long, love strong

Stay close to life
Track Name: Home Ground featuring Patti Austin
The clouds are clearing now I see
These pictures burn into my mind
I flow like river to the sea
This is the time for us to stand on higher ground
And change the things that we can see

It’s funny when I look back on the things that I did
Everyone around me taking all the love that I could give

All my sisters
Take all my brothers arms
It’s all we need now

Like the rising of the ocean waves crash down
Feel the love
This is our home ground protected from above
By love and love and love is what we need

Now such different times are here
We see through all our tears
The picture stayed the same

So let the whole world hear our voice
Our time is here our choice is what they’re waiting for

We know we have got a future
So it doesn’t matter where we are now
Everybody come together and we can be free yeah

The lost will soon be found this time will last forever
This is our home ground

Now we’re like A Raging Ocean
The waves are crashing down down down
The waves are crashing down

And I hear a distant voice inside my head
And the world is changing now

This is our home ground protected from above
By love and love and love is what we need

Protected from above by love
Track Name: Soul Glow featuring Kendra Foster
Feel the light in your heart as it beats in a new way
See the love in your eyes at the start of a new day
I feel so lucky now that I know that miracles happen
You know that it’s happening to us now
I can see all of the stars that shine
Shine on you
I’m getting closer to you
I can see the light that shines so true
It breaks the darkness as sun shines through

And I take a look so deep in your eyes
And I see the soul glow
It lights a flame and it burns in my heart for you
And I know that you feel the same way too

And it’s gonna happen
Now that we’re changing everything
And I won’t let anything
Cos it’s in my heart
And I know that this is gonna happen

Clouds leave the sky
Birds fly so high and I
I know it’s you

Deep in your eyes I see your soul glow
Your light shines on everything
You make everything feel good
And I know I’m gonna love ya

Together now were going to make the world seem better
The love I see that’s in your eyes so warm and tender
I knew it the moment that we met
We were meant for each other

Deep in your heart I see a soul glow
And I feel like I’ve been touched by your love
Now we can be just who we wanna be
Cos’ you know that it’s really gonna happen now
Track Name: Under Your Spell featuring Chaka Khan
You wanna tell me
You wanna tell me
The night I ran away from you
Make you feel so blue
It took you over
All night and all day

A haa yoho o o wow

It took you such a long time
To see what’s best for us

Spell, your spell, spell, your spell
I am under your spell

You wanna tell me
You wanna tell me
The night I ran away from you
Made me feel so blue
It took me over
All night and all day

A haa a oh o wow

It took you such a long time
To see what’s best for us

Wanna tell me baby
You wanna tell me
The night I ran away from you
Made me feel so blue

Spell, your spell, spell, your spell
I am under your spell

You wanna tell me
You wanna tell me
That night I ran away from you
It made me feel so blue

The night you ran away from me
All night and all day
Track Name: Everybody's Movin' featuring Dwight Trible
World moving on like the wheel spinning round
Never stops or waits
Looking for love or finding hate
In our hearts deep inside
Torn apart through all the wars we fight

What we need is not what we’re fighting for
And we all need something
To have our dreams and live our lives in love

Try looking through another man's eyes
You won't see the world in the same way

Everybody's movin’
Everybody moves along in their way
Everybody’s talking
But I can't hear what they say hey hey

What we need is not what we’re fighting for
Everybody needs something
The taste of freedom in our lives
In our lives

Caring and sharing is what we should do

Everybody's movin’
Everybody moves along in their way
Everybody’s talking
But I can’t hear what they say
Hey hey

Love
Life
Now
Now is the time
You
Can make a difference
Now
Track Name: Own Again featuring Mary Griffin
I’m out here on my own again
Got nowhere else to go
Where are you?
Do you know?

In a time
And in a place
In this world
We are one

And they’re saying
We’re brothers and sisters
Reaching out
All for love

What becomes of this world
Do you know, where to go

In a life, where to strain
Yeah now, in these blues

There is home to move on
And look at the light

Now we’re on our own again
Got nowhere else to go
Do you know

Now we’re on our own again
Got nowhere else to go
Do you know

Now we’re on our own again
And nowhere else to go
Where are you
Do you know

Now we’re on our own again
I got no place to go
Got nowhere else to go
Where are you, where to go
Do you know
Track Name: Soil featuring Ursula Rucker
One is never lonely
Or alone when
One is home

One is never lonely
Or alone when
One is home

Not just house or country
Or place home
Home, like, heart home
Soul home, home
Like a tree finds home
And roots in fertile soil

Home ground
We’re all just
Homeward bound, like
Nomads, we all just, nomads

Looking to be rooted
And something will staying
Ever traveling to
Searching for home

I see, through field
Through struggle
In my we’re all just
Homeward bound

Looking to take root in
That place
That space
That soil
That home ground

We are just nomads
We are just homeward bound

And
One is never lonely or alone when
One is home and
One is never lonely or alone when
One is home and
One is never lonely or alone when
One is home
Track Name: Place Delight featuring Mary Griffin
When skylights take over the city
While beats getting stronger, so strong
These people sell dust, even lust
Win or loose is the game they play

And you're so East and I am so West
Place of delight in quest

Let’s go find a place
Where we are sound and safe
Just the two of us
Side by side
And we'll make this place our place of delight
Let’s just find a place
Where we are sound and safe
Just the two of us
Side by side
And we'll make this place our place of delight

Where fashion meets art at the party
And club steppers shoot their shot
It’s you telling me, run and flee
Cause you're in the wrong side of town

And you're so East and I am so West
Place of delight in quest

So let’s go find a place
Where we are sound and safe
Just the two of us
Side by side
And we'll make this place our place of delight
Let’s just find a place
Where we are sound and safe
Just the two of us
Side by side
And we'll make this place our place of delight

With you

Let’s just get away

With you
Track Name: God It’s Hot (Today) featuring Dwight Trible
I don’t know where we are now
It’s hard to see now where we go
All alone
This world needs a helping hand
Like a child
Lost in the dark
Searching for hope
In the tempest we’re waiting

God it’s hot
God it’s hot for everyone
In the dark of the night
In the light of the day
People are hoping and waiting
Some kneel and pray
So many words are spoken
So many deeds are done
But the pressure keeps building
It’s hard for everyone
God it’s hot
We’re gonna need some help

We must believe in ourselves
Trust in your god, don’t lose the sight or the love
Take strength from others, you’ll see
You’re not alone
No one’s alone
Just add your voice
And your heart will be free
Track Name: Yesterday Oh Yesterday featuring Frank McComb
Sometimes it’s so hard to see where you fit in
Life’s like that
Never in the same place the people that you meet
Seem so lonely
Then suddenly you meet someone and you know
There’s a new day
Suddenly now everything has changed
It’s time to make this happen
It’s time to say goodbye

Yesterday oh yesterday
Why do you have to follow me around
I think it’s time
Maybe we should say goodbye
Oh yesterday oh yesterday
We had so much fun but now it’s gone
It’s time to move on
Yesterday meet tomorrow now

I was just a tourist with nothing left to see yeah
But this is where I am now and this is where I’ll be yeah
Maybe now I’ve found a place that I know I’ll be me
Changes happen all the time you know

It’s time to make this happen
This time I know it’s real

Yesterday oh yesterday
Maybe now you’ve stopped and turned around
Maybe it’s time
We had to say goodbye you know
Yesterday oh yesterday
Today I’m gonna be someone you know
I’m moving on
But don’t be sad we always had to say goodbye

Say goodbye
Turn away and look inside
To find the strength the love and pride that you will need
To carry on

I’m taking myself into something new
Change is time moving on
And this is where you can find me now

It’s time for us to say goodbye
To yesterday

I won’t let the memories fade away
Yesterday becomes tomorrow

Yesterday oh yesterday
Tomorrow I won’t miss you yesterday
We say goodbye

Tomorrow is the future and it’s happening now
I’ll let tomorrow come to me
We all have our memories that fade
But don’t turn your back and walk away

Yesterday I’ll always remember you
Track Name: Pangea featuring Andy Bey
Change, change, change, change
Change, change, change, change

It’s not so much the world’s problem as it is the human problem
You know because you never going to change the world
You know but humans have to change
And that’s changing the world
